One of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, Hyundai Motor Company continues its expansion and global growth without slowing down. Investing in the region with the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board, Hyundai is thus taking a brand new step in technology and product development.
The building, which will be established as the Hyundai Mobility Global Innovation Center (HMGIC), will cover a total area of 44,000 m2. The center, which will be built in Singapore’s Jurong District, will be completed in the second half of 2022.
HMGIC will also have an important place as the brand’s global open innovation center. The lab will explore new future mobility business concepts by moving in multiple avenues. It will also directly contribute to the R&D of technological models that will represent the future in the automotive industry. It will also lead the way to reach new markets and customers with the latest technologies by changing the way of production and sales. Bringing together artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) and other advanced technologies, the laboratory will create a human-centered smart manufacturing platform. Together with the platform, an innovative product development process and on-demand production system will be tested and will contribute to mass production.
Hyundai also aims to increase the use of virtual reality (VR) technology in the vehicle development process. The center will draw attention with concepts such as electric models and e-scooters that it will develop more.
